Welcome to The Old Forge, a four star, silver award, bed and breakfast in East Kennett.

The village is set in the heart of Wiltshire’s prehistoric countryside and is only 1 mile from the world heritage sites of the Avebury stone circle, Silbury Hill and the West Kennett long barrow.The pretty market town of Marlborough is also nearby.

The surrounding area provides great walking and cycling opportunities. Both the Ridgeway, Europe’s oldest road, and the massive Saxon earthwork of the Wansdyke cross the area, and a long distance trail links all eight of Wiltshire’s famous hillside chalk horses.
During the summer months, magnificent formations of crop circles tend to appear on the landscape. Most frequently near the sites of the ancient Monuments.

The house was once the village’s blacksmiths and is believed to date back to the 16th century. Today it has been restored in a contemporary style to a very high standard, blending old and new furniture with tasteful fabrics and furnishings.

The four letting rooms are all large and well laid out, each with its own style and character. They each contain TV, fridge, hairdryer, radio alarms, tea and coffee etc.

Breakfast is served in our large open plan kitchen and dining room, the extensive menu centres on the “full English” and features a wide choice of local and homemade produce.
We also offer a cooked vegetarian option and a selection of fruit, yoghurts and croissants, we can cater for wheat and dairy intolerance.
