Dunstable is a market town in Bedfordshire, now somewhat continuous with the western edge of neighbouring Luton. It was once an important communication centre in Roman times, situated at the crossing point of Watling Street and Icknield Way. In and around 1130 it was home to a Norman priory but little of it remains today. Dunstable is close to the Dunstable Downs situated at the eastern end of the beautiful Chiltern Hills.
