Peterborough is a cathedral city in eastern central England about 38 miles northwest of Cambridge and roughly the same distance east of Leicester. Peterborough's origins may be traced to a monastery that occupied the site from 650 AD, it was ultimately was destroyed and all the monks slaughtered by the Vikings in 869. The cathedral dates back to 1118 and interestingly contains the body of Catherine of Aragon, and Mary Queen of Scots.
