Honiton is a town in Devon on the River Otter, 15 miles northeast of Exeter. During the 16th to 19th centuries it was once an important lace-making centre. It is also on the old roman road the Fosse Way, linking Exeter and Lincoln, and became an important stopping point. Today, Honiton is best appreciated for its location next to the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the similarly AONB attributed, Blackdown Hills.
