Ilfracombe is an infinitely popular coastal town and seaside resort in North Devon, about 10 miles north of Barnstaple. Ilfracombe has a rich heritage as a trading port that came to prosper between the 14th and 16th centuries and was twice besieged during the Civil Wars. The arrival of the railway in the 19th century opened the town to Victorian holiday makers and therefore rich villas and hotels graced the step surrounding hills. Ilfracombe is still as popular today, and within fantastic proximity to some of Devon's richest assets.
