A town in Hampshire just northeast of Winchester consisting of New Alresford and Old Alresford connected by a causeway across a 12th century reservoir. An important centre for the wool trade and rebuilt after a series of fires in the 18th and 19th centuries means Alresford is of considerable antiquity.
