Hythe is a seaside town on the southeast coast of Kent, 8 miles southwest of Folkestone. It was one of the original Cinque Ports, but the superannuated port is now cut off from the town by the Royal Military Canal. Aside from the great countryside and typical seaside attractions, Hythe also lies within close proximity to Saltwood castle, which was the meeting point of the Knights who murdered Thomas Becket in Canterbury Cathedral.
