Leixester is a city on the River Soar and Grand Union Canal, roughly 25 miles south of Nottingham. Leicester was an important settlement for the Romans and is situated where the Fosse Way crossed the Soar. Sections of the forum and baths survive, as does the Jewry Wall. Such a rich history ensures there is plentiful legacy to be seen within the city. The nearby National park offers even more for the enquiring explorer.
