Witney is a small market town in Oxfordshire, on the River Windrush, at the eastern edge of the Cotswolds. The town centre contains many handsome 17th and 18th century buildings in Cotswold stone, most notably Old Blanket Hall. Witney lies within a county of many historic areas and equally historic countryside, White Horse Hill within the Berkshire Downs is a perfect example.
