Cheddar is a village in Somerset 8 miles northwest of Wells and within the honeycombed caves of the Mendip Hills - renowned for their deep gorges, most notably Cheddar Gorge, and also their edible snails. Not surprisingly, part of the Mendips, are designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the area is notable for its vast range of outdoor sports and leisure activities, including: caving, climbing and abseiling. The area is also well regarded by walkers.
Ideally situated for walking, cycling and touring the Mendips and the West Country. Competitively priced for short or longer holidays.
