Camberley was originally named Cambridge Town, in honour of the Duke of Cambridge but changed to Camberley in 1877. Its name change was partly due to confusion within the post office, due to its similarity to Cambridge. Camberley is a town in Surrey 8 miles west of Woking, and has a long standing military heritage now continued by nearby Sandhurst. It sits amongst some of the most peaceful sandy heathland and pinewoods native to West Surrey.
