Midhurst is a market town in West Sussex, on the River Rother and about 12 miles north of Chichester. Midhurst seems to be synonymous with fantastic writers, in particular H.G. Wells who went to school here and later based the town as Wimblehurst in the sardonic novel, Tono-Bungay. Midhurst is well regarded as one of the foremost places to live in England and is fittingly home to a magnificent ruin of the Tudor Cowdray House and the stately Victorian Cowdray Park.
