Worthing is a town and seaside resort on the West Sussex coast, 10 miles west of Brighton. It was originally a tiny fishing hamlet but during the late 18th century it was recognised for its sea-bathing qualities. Essentially it retains much of its genteel and respectable vigour and is perhaps a more reclined location than neighbouring Brighton.
