Halifax is an industrial town in West Yorkshire barely 6 miles northwest of Huddersfield. Halifax was once a centre for the cloth making industry as early as the 13th century, by the 15th century was making more cloth than anywhere else in Yorkshire - a heritage that may still be recognised at the towns magnificent Georgian Piece Hall. Halifax sits on the south-eastern corner some extensive moorland called the South Pennines which are fantastically popular with walkers.
