Wetherby is a market town on the River Wharfe, West Yorkshire, and 13 miles southwest of York. During the Middle Ages the surrounding area once belonged to the Knights Templar. Wetherby was also an important staging post on the Great North Road between London and Edinburgh, and much of the towns character attests to this.
