Description

Lime Grove is a one bedroom bungalow in a quite, secluded corner of Everton village. The village is ideally located midway between the bustling town of Lymington and the quiet village of Milford on sea, whilst the peace and tranquillity of the New Forest is just a 10 minute drive away.

The bungalow has been totally renovated throughout and has a small front area and a larger private garden at the rear, which provides a sunny area to enjoy a late breakfast, relax or take a coffee break in. Garden chairs and a table are provided.

The fitted kitchen has an electric hob, oven, microwave, washing machine and fridge. The central heating and hot water system is gas fired and all utility charges are included in the weekly rate. The en-suite bathroom has a large walk in shower. The bedroom has a king size double bed (which can be converted into two singles) and plenty of storage areas. The sitting room is equipped with two sofa’s (one converts to a bed), coffee tables, a plasma flat screen TV with free-view channels, DVD player, radio/CD player, magazines, a collection of games, books but no phone.

The conservatory leads off from the kitchen and has a dinning table, chairs and a sofa and provides an additional sunny room to enjoy your meals in or just relax.

Within walking distance is the village shop (open 7 days a week) and the local pub ‘The Crown’, which has an excellent reputation for good food. Just two miles away is Milford where you have every type of store, including newsagent, dispensing chemist, baker, butcher, off license, an HSBC bank, two mini stores open 8am to 8pm and 3 pubs.

Everton is an ideal base for exploring the Hampshire/Dorset coast and the New Forest area. The beach is just two miles away at Milford with spectacular cliff top walks overlooking the Isle of Wright and the Needles. Sailing and general boating is available from Keyhaven where you can catch a local passenger ferry to Hurst Castle and Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Lymington is also two miles away and is well known for its picturesque quay area, sailing and Saturday market, the car ferry to Yarmouth leaves from a small port on the other side of the town. Just beyond Everton is the whole of the New Forest area, renowned for the ponies, woods, open hearth land and wonderful walks. Beaulieu is approximately 10 miles away, and is certainly the most famous of the New Forest villages. Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House and the gardens are all open to visitors, whilst the grounds hold the National Motor Museum – the country’s finest collection of vintage motor vehicles.

A few miles from Beaulieu is Bucklers Hard, which is a tiny 18th century hamlet on the banks of the river, where ‘Men of War’ ships were built from the plentiful New Forest oaks. The main street is wide enough to roll one of these mighty trees down to the water’s edge. Nelson’s favorite ship, the Agamemnon was built here. The Maritime Museum at Butlers Hard reflects the ship building heritage of the village whilst the Master Mariner pub recalls other traditions. Salisbury, Winchester, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Pool, Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills are all within easy driving distance.

If you would like to make a booking please send a £100 deposit (per week) with the balance 6 weeks prior to arrival. Cheques should made payable to Mrs. Kate Danby. The bungalow does sleep two very comfortably and three, if one person does not mind sleeping in the Living Room. Duvet, pillows and towels are provided. We do accept a small, well behaved dog (additional charge of £15 per week), but in fairness to our other guests we request that your pet does not sleep on the bed or climb onto the sofa/chairs. Parking is available directly outside the bungalow and we will provide you with a complimentary car park ticket valid for many of the local town car parks.
