Small, cosy VisitScotland 4 star hostel in Kyleakin, Isle of Skye,ideally situated for late arr. or early depart. by train or bus. Parking.
This small and cosy hostel with a VisitScotland 4 star rating, makes an ideal place to stay for your Island visit. We offer comfortable dorm beds, fully equipped with clean bedding and freshly laundered linen. The accommodation is in 3 dorm rooms with 4, 5 and 6 beds. The room for 6, has its own shower en-suite. The other two rooms share a shower. Toilets are also shared, as are kitchen and common room. The kitchen is fully equipped for self catering with a good dining area. Plenty of storage space is provided for your food supplies and there are two fridges. A cooker with 2 ovens and a microwave is provided for your cooking needs. There is also a toaster and kettle. In the common room you’ll find lots of books to read and games to play, here is also an additional dining area and a Television set.
All rooms have lovely sea and mountain vistas.
The dorm rooms are all on the first floor and have security locks on the doors. Keys are given for dorm room and front door on production of ID, and there is a no curfew in operation. But we do have Hostel Rules which need to be accepted before booking with us. For hill walkers and mountaineers we provide a drying room for wet outdoor gear.
For cyclists we have a secure area for storage. We also have off road, hard standing for motorcycles. Free parking is provided throughout the village and outside hostel.
Regretfully we do not take children under the age of 12 and no pets allowed.
The village has several restaurants and pubs,a cosy coffee shop, two village stores and a Post office. Across the Skye Bridge there are several shops, banks, supermarkets, swimming pool, pubs,restaurants, and the best chip-shop around. Kyle of Lochalsh is also where the mainland trains arrive from Edinburgh or the North, via Inverness. The WestHighland trains arrive in Fort William, to Mallaig, with ferry connection to Armadale on Skye. Local Buses are running regularly and cheap “Skyerover” tickets can be purchased. CityLink buses from Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh also stop in Kyleakin.
In short, this is the ideal place for a comfortable visit to the magical Isle of Skye.
