As demand for hotel rooms has increased in the UK, so have standards and this can be seen in the rise of quality of hotels from large chains to the independents. Today’s traveller is far more discerning, and has a clear idea of what they want from a hotel.

Help & tips:

  1. Many city business hotels will have cheaper rooms at the weekend when their usual business guests leave – worth looking out for
  2. If you are happy to travel a little, choose hotels outside of city centres – these are cheaper and quieter
  3. Look out for advance booking bargains – the large chains offer these, as do smaller establishments
  4. Watch for bargain room prices with expensive breakfast options – a neat trick for the hotel, not so for you!
