Elgin is a royal Burgh and historic cathedral city in Moray. The city is littered with a bounty of fine distinguished architecture most notably the ruins of Elgin Cathedral, which dates back to the 13th century and is known as the Lantern of the North. Interestingly, it was a battle near Elgin where Macbeth killed his cousin Duncan I and took over the throne.
