Serviced Apartments have grown in popularity over the last 5 years. There are now several large chains of Serviced Apartments across the major cities in the country which cater for individuals or groups of visitors needing a place to stay.

Often groups can occupy one apartment and conduct meetings in a comfortable and private environment.

What is a Serviced Apartment?

The meaning of serviced apartment can vary widely in the UK and can refer to modern residential blocks that may even have a restaurant and sports facilities on site. The upkeep and cleaning of a serviced apartment is undertaken by the company that is managing it. In some respects serviced apartments are similar to hotels in that somebody will come in and clean the apartment for you on a regular basis.

Some blocks of serviced apartments are owned by private companies who want somewhere for workers to stay when they are on business in the major cities. It is often better business sense for a company to use serviced apartments than a hotel, which can be considerably more expensive.

In recent years the UK seems to be following European examples and management companies are operating some serviced apartments strictly for the vacation market. Blocks that are run as holiday serviced apartments may also have facilities such as a restaurant, bar and pool where guests can relax.
