Monmouth is a market town in Monmouthshire at the confluence of the Rivers Wye and Monnow, and 20 miles west of Gloucestershire. The centre of the town boasts a 12th century castle, where Henry V was born in 1388, and in fact, the town is synonymous with historic importance: there is also a 13th-century medieval, stone gated bridge at Monnow Bridge, which is the only remaining bridge of this design.
As recommended by Condé Nast Johansens - The Bell At Skenfrith offers a 5 star restaurant with rooms. Stunning rooms, with an even more impressive restaurant.
Travelodge offers budget hotel accommodation 5 miles outside Monmouth providing great value and a comfortable nights stay.
