Llanidloes is a small market town on the River Severn in Powys, 22 miles east of Aberystwyth. The town centre is characterised by an enigmatic, half-timbered market hall. Llanidloes is well regarded amongst walking circles and offers a host of scenic, mountain routes, most notably: The road connecting Machynlleth and Llanidloes which passes over the spine of the Cambrian Mountains, and Glyndwr's Way, which combines with the Offa's Dyke path to form an extensive 160-mile circuit around Mid Wales.
